I started my career in mental health, working with a range of mental health issues, from mild depression to those with a forensic mental health background.
My next role was working for a domestic abuse agency managing their drop-in centre. Since then, advocacy has been at the heart of my work. I worked as an IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocate) before going on to work in a specialist role as an ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advocate).
I have spent the last 10 years working for a specialist sexual violence agency and worked with adults and children, before managing the ISVA team. As an advocacy manager, I am co-safeguarding lead and also have a consultative role as an assessor for the ISVA Practitioner Diploma.
As a therapist, I work with a broad range of issues but I am a trauma specialist with extensive experience in supporting clients who have experienced abuse.
I work therapeutically with Psychodynamic and Person-centred modalities. I also have a keen academic interest in Attachment theory and Jungian psychology and these are also influences in my work.
